I am so in awe of Jacqueline Kennedy, such a beautiful and elegant woman with so much charm and grace and such an incredible mind. ‘One man can make a differance and every man should try.’ God bless her.

February 14, 1962, was the 50th anniversary of Arizona’s admission to the Union, as well as being Valentine’s Day.

@FanofBewitched if you type in “NBC news times capsule” it will bring you to a page with several videos on it, one of them being the tour. (You can also type in on a search engine “a tour of the white house with Mrs. Kennedy, hulu” and it will show the direct address for her video.)

This is how she spoke in public and she wasn’t trying to copy marilyn cuase there are news interviews of her from the 1950s when her husband was running for Senator for Massachusetts and she sounds the same as in this video…during the time her husband was running for senator, Marilyn monroe was not that famous yet…

Love the accent. It just breaks and destroys the mental image I had of her, completely. I wish she’d just emphasize it even more, in a more Bostonian way, perhaps even fit in a “schmuck” or a “parlor”. That way she’d seem even more like a fish out of water.

@Awesnap Thank you for writing this. It is so true. There is very little respect for the English language nowadays.
Its hard to believe that Jacqueliine Kennedy was so poised in her 30s.
